Frequently Asked Questions
Can this tool extract tables and data from my PDF?
Yes. Our PDF to Excel converter is built to detect tabular data on each page and turn it into spreadsheet rows and columns. Accuracy is highest for PDFs with clearly defined table structure and selectable text.
How are multiple tables or pages organized in the spreadsheet?
All tables found across every page of the PDF are extracted and combined into a single sheet in the Excel workbook, one below the other. If you need the data separated by page, split the PDF first and convert each part individually.
Will formulas from my original document be preserved?
No. A PDF is a presentation format and does not store formulas, only the calculated values that are visible on the page. The Excel output contains those values as static data, and you can add formulas yourself after conversion.
What Excel format will I receive?
The converted file is provided in .xlsx format, compatible with Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, LibreOffice Calc, and other modern spreadsheet applications.
What happens if my PDF has no tables?
The converter looks specifically for tabular data. If no table structure is detected anywhere in the PDF, the conversion will not produce a spreadsheet. This tool is intended for PDFs that contain actual tables, not plain paragraphs of text.
Can I convert a scanned PDF to Excel?
The converter reads the text layer of a PDF directly and does not perform OCR. Scanned PDFs, which are really images, will not extract correctly. Use a digitally-created PDF with selectable text for reliable results.
Is PDF to Excel conversion free?
Yes, completely free, with no account needed, no watermarks on the spreadsheet, and no usage limits.
Is my PDF file secure during the conversion?
Yes. Your file is encrypted during upload, processed on our servers, and deleted shortly after. We do not access, share, or retain the contents of your documents.
